Guitarist Ian C. Bouras pushes aside Ataxia with new String Endorsement and Upcoming Gigs

Bouras forges his own unique musical path, inspires others while bringing awareness to his rare neurological disorder

NEW YORK, NY – September 28, 2015 – (GuitarPR) – Guitarist Ian C. Bouras, who has publicly challenged his rare and progressive neurological disorder, Ataxia, has landed a new string endorsement deal with StringJoy and announced two upcoming gigs in New York State.

With Ataxia, Bouras is dealing with a condition that contributes to the deterioration of his coordination, affecting his ability to play the guitar in the same way he did earlier in his career. To counter this progressing disability, he has developed a unique method of Live Looping to create amazing music as a composer, musician and engineer all at once.

StringJoy’s sponsorship of Bouras will allow him to reach more guitar enthusiasts with his music and his message that serves to inspire others, at the same time bringing much needed attention and support to a disease which is unknown to the vast majority of people.

Bouras says, “I’m thrilled to be associated with StringJoy, a company who is known for its support of both musicians and important causes. They donate 5% of their net profits to support music education by selecting a different organization to support every month, and mixing it up between organizations at the international, national, and local level.”

Ian C. Bouras will be appearing Tuesday, October 13th at 8:00pm at Boulder Coffee Company in Rochester, NY and on Friday, October 16th at 2:00pm at Utica Brews in Utica, NY. Bouras will have his CD’s available at both events, but instead of accepting money for them directly, he will ask that a donation be made to the National Ataxia Foundation.

More information about Bouras’ music can be found at SDMPRecords.com. Find out more about Ataxia at www.ataxia.org. Information about StringJoy is at StringJoy.com.

Ian C. Bouras Begins Preproduction On His First Unique Live Looping DVD Absence

A New York musician named Ian C Bouras is making waves in the music scene. With a pioneering new twist, he starts this week by laying down the foundations of his new live looping DVD.

With an impressive background in music, Ian has become more than just a musician. Acting as a one man band, Ian has learnt to produce, perform and fine tune every aspect of a music performance- He can even perform this live.
With his latest project, Ian has been working more on his live looping. With interest and popularity rising in his looping talent, he has decided to create a DVD of his live looping performances.

So why are people so fascinated? Well, if you were to imagine the sound of a full band coming from one man and an electric guitar, you can get some idea as to why such interest has developed.

So how does it work? Ian has coupled his guitar up with a synth, which can replicate the sound of pianos, bass, guitar etc. Used alongside with a phase shifter, delay, and a looping pedal, he can create live loops which sound like there is a full band. By building different layers, he can create a bass and piano part separately and bring these in to the song when needed by the looppedal. In many cases 3-4 instrument sounds can be layered up live at once.

If listening to these live performances doesn’t impress you enough, you will be surprised to know that Ian actually suffers from a rare neurological condition called Ataxia. For anyone not familiar with this, it effects a persons coordination. Luckily for Ian, its not progressing fast but it still has an impact on his guitar playing. Ian feels he cant play the guitar like he would like to. This is why he started experimenting with live looping. Now, he’s a composer, musician and audio engineer all in one swoop.

“I am beginning preproduction on my first DVD of looping. It is called Absence, and will be, as far as I know, the first DVD of it’s kind”. — Ian C Bouras

Ian C Bouras has already proved himself as a studio musician. Being nominated for several awards and receiving many rave reviews, this next step is new territory for him. His fans and audience can enjoy a new side to his musical talents, when his new Absence DVD is released.

About:

Educated with an audio engineering degree, Ian Charles Bouras is a guitarist and producer, who plays diverse musical styles from New York City. Recently he has been experimenting with live loop pedal performances.

New pop rock single "Not The End Of The World" written, composed and produced by Anna C. Nova and  performed by Elena Cherkasova is just officially released and available world wide!Anna C. Nova: "I always was and still am impressed by the music of Joe Cocker. He is great musician, songwriter and artist with very strong character what always can be heard in his great songs. If one tells that my new song “Not The End Of The World” sounds like Joe Cocker’s “Unchain My Heart” and with this song I didn’t bring anything new to the listeners, I will never deny it. On the contrary I will accept it as the big compliment".

Right after the first few notes of the single release Intoxication off the album "10 Tracks", one hears the unmistakable Funspreader-style.This time it is the light and catchy melodies that are accompanied with a slightly hypnotizing touch. The name of the track also derives from this. With 15 songs, the single takes the listener on a journey made of phat club tracks and beautiful, atmospheric sounds. Thanks to the artists Whitebeat, Aerotrancer, Electro Kartell, Paul da Joke, Impulsound, ASKII, Torsten Kugler and Anton Suchorukov, the finest of remixes and special edits are offered. Funspreader did not miss out on the opportunity to put its hands to the task and to contribute one of its own mixes. It is interesting to note the results which are musically presented by individual coverage of the theme. Each of these tracks captivates via its own peculiarity. Despite the sound variety, the attributes of vitality, optimism and good mood are continually accentuated. Thought-provoking energy that lets you forget everyday life. A compilation arises such as otherwise not to be found and heard. At this repertoire, the DJ scene will get its money's worth as well. For the best possible final touches, none other than Dominik de Leon was commissioned, who leveraged the track Intoxication to perfection. The previous releases of Funspreader have already been well-received by the fan base. Due to its qualities, the current single will infect each listener anew and lift his mood.

<p><strong>DJ ROB:</strong> In the music entertainment business what do you consider successful ? <br /> <br /><strong>WHODINI-BLAK:</strong> Success is measured by the amount of self approval an individual has for themselves, and also an individual that stays busy doing what they love about the industry and pursuing new ventures and new creativity. <br /> <br /><strong>DJ:</strong> When a song is being played do you think of the artist or the producer and why ? <br /> <br /><strong>WB: </strong>First, I check out the producer&rsquo;s work, that is the most important and basically tells the mood of the track, when the artist speaks then I listen to them, most of the time the music always play first! <br /> <br /><strong>DJ:</strong> Why do you think record labels work more for artist, than the producer ? <br /> <br /><strong>WB:</strong> Record labels work for the artist more because they are the instrument of voice, they are connected to the fans at a hands on, up close basis which is the key to record sales. Producers are behind the curtains playing the keys. <br /> <br /><strong>DJ:</strong> Is a contract the best choice for a music producer or freelance ? <br /> <br /><strong>WB:</strong> Freelance money is always good, they get that upfront and the rest through royalties but those are not always paid in the required time limit, which result in multiple lawsuits, contract producers are a plus also, think of it as a reliable day job, the down side to that is they are not paid enough and only paid enough if the records breakthrough. <br /> <br /><strong>DJ:</strong> Should the producer or the artist get the higher percentage of royalties and why ? <br /> <br /><strong>WB:</strong> To answer that question is to make an equation that reflects the exact amount of work each party contributed, which is always artist 100% to producer 100% (BMI 200% shares), but that&rsquo;s solely my opinion. <br /> <br /><strong>DJ:</strong> Does the style of the music that is created by the producer influence their music production sells ? <br /> <br /><strong>WB:</strong> Yes it does, a talented producer explore various genres in creation, in doing so, the producer doesn&rsquo;t have just one particular genre of artists that they cater to, it&rsquo;s a diverse way to make money from a many category industry. <br /> <br /><strong>DJ:</strong> As a music producer what genre of music do you think sells the best ? Why ? <br /> <br /><strong>WB:</strong> Pop/R&amp;B&hellip;the best combination ever, everyone loves to sing and everyone loves to dance. Up-tempo and melodic compositions are always top sellers. <br /> <br /><strong>DJ:</strong> Does the decrease in hard copy C.D. sales hurt the artist or producer more ? <br /> <br /><strong>WB:</strong> The artist, the producer already have the bulk of their money. <br /> <br /><strong>DJ:</strong> If a music producer is on tour with an artist should he/she get paid the same as the artist for shows ? <br /> <br /><strong>WB:</strong> No, why would the producer even be there, unless they are playing live and the producer will actually be punching the keys. Producers traveling with the artist is solely their discretion. <br /> <br /><strong>DJ:</strong> What do you think is the best license for an independent music producer and why ? <br /> <br /><strong>WB:</strong> Mechanical licenses, the producer can continue to get paid off of physical sells including the ones the producer initiate on their own. <br /> <br /><strong>DJ:</strong> Who do you think is the most successful music producer ? <br /> <br /><strong>WB:</strong> Quincy Jones <br /> <br /><strong>DJ:</strong> Does a well known music producer help an unknown artist more or does a well known artist help an unknown producer more ? <br /> <br /><strong>WB:</strong> It works in both ways, a known producer can actually jump start an artist career for people to actually pay attention and bring an already establish audience, a known artist can bring an unknown producer more business from potential top artists as well as local business. The downfall to a known producer and unknown artist is that consumer may not think the collaboration is real; and the downfall to a known artist and unknown producer is that the producer is not paid enough and could be unmentioned in the credits thus making his involvement actually obsolete.</p>
