The hardest thing for a songwriter/singer to do is know how to describe their music. It seems like all music has to be labeled or categorized and put in a tidy little pigeonhole. I ask 10 people whom I sound like and I get 10 different answers-- the general consenus is "like you". I've been writting music for many years ans when I write a song. I don't think about fitting in or making a hit-- Ijust create what comes to me. My lyrics stem from real issues, real feelings and real concerns. Whether about love (You Were Meant For Me). abuse (If Only), greed (Mother Earth). self-worth (Don't Need To apologize) or even war and destruction (raining Fire)--the songs come straight from the heart. When someone comes up tp me and say they hear me-- it makes it all worthwhile. Starla.
